Small bronze signal cannon with yoke and stand, probably 1800s. 13 lb. 18" long. Like its much larger brethren, this compact cannon has all the working parts in miniature and is attractively patinated, in excellent (displayable) condition. The larger type of this cannon would have been mounted by yoke to the rail of a ship and aimed with tillers during close combat or for signaling purposes, this one instead mounted onto a heavy stone cylindrical stand, a great display.
